About our Program

This Crime Stoppers Program began in 1992 from the efforts of our local Royal Canadian Mounted Police Detachment and a group of committed citizens. Our Program now operates as an independent organization. The concept has developed into a combination of efforts by local media, businesses, civic and social clubs, law enforcement agencies, and the public. Donations of airtime, newspaper space, and reward monies have established Crime Stoppers as an effective tool to fight crime in the area.

South Okanagan Similkameen Crime Stoppers serves the communities of Apex, Cawston, Coalmont, Faulder, Gallagher Lake, Hedley, Kaleden, Keremeos, Naramata, Okanagan Falls, Olalla, Oliver, Oliver Indian Band, Osoyoos, Osoyoos Indian Band, Penticton, Penticton Indian Band, Princeton, Summerland, Tulameen, Twin Lakes, Upper & Lower Similkameen Indian Band, & Willowbrook.

Crime Stoppers is governed by a board of volunteer directors who meet on a monthly basis to set policy, decide on tip rewards and deal with the operation of the organization.

Crime Stoppers receives no government funding and is managed solely by contributions from individuals and corporate sponsors. Tax deductible receipts are issued for all donations to Crime Stoppers.

Crime threatens the well-being of our children, our families, and it tears apart our communities. Citizens can disrupt crime by sharing knowledge about criminal actives.

By reporting crime, you are one of tens of thousands of people in B.C. who has helped to identify drug labs and dealers, catch wanted fugitives, solve arsons, thefts and robberies, and apprehend criminals wanted for violent assaults and murders. One missing piece of the puzzle can make a difference. Aside from the right thing to do, you may also be eligible for a reward for your tip information.
